About the Artist

“Shantelle vanterpool”

Mixed Media Artist

Painting | AR/VR | Sculpting | Wood
Shantelle Vanterpool is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the tension between structure and deconstruction, rooted in her background in fashion design. Drawing inspiration from global travels and the vibrant cultures of Africa, the Caribbean, and coastal North America, her paintings are layered expressions of intuition, memory, and motion. Bold color palettes, geometric forms, and recurring symbols—like her signature yellow Diddle flower—form a visual language that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.

Shantelle describes her work as “the fabric of my memories,” weaving together emotion, texture, and nature into abstract compositions. She often paints from floor to wall, fully immersed in the physical act of creation. “I don’t paint to represent reality,” she says. “I paint to evoke it.” Her art invites viewers into a space of joy, introspection, and radical imagination—challenging how we see the world and empowering us to reimagine it. “As awkward as it may appear,” she reflects, “I still see beauty.”
